Mental Health Project

The Mental Health Project was created in an effort to talk about the topic of mental health. This project will focus on destigmatizing stereotypes about mental health and encouraging youth to participate in the conversation about it. This project will produce articles, podcast episodes, and more, to open meaningful discussions about mental health and illness, self-care, and disparities in the community. This project is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy mental health.

We will:

  • Talk about the science behind mental health

  • Talk about mental health in society (stereotypes, portrayal, understanding, etc.)

  • Discuss the stigma surrounding mental health in certain industries like entertainments, sports, and more

  • Dispel myths and false narratives about mental health and mental illnesses

  • Talk to professionals and people with lived experience to raise awareness

  • Provide mental health resources and other materials for all students

This project is in affiliation with the Youth Ambassadors program, started through passion for mental health and in completion of the Community Service project assignment.
